Attracting Your Soul Mate

Looking for your soul mate? What do you think would attract him or her to you? Obviously, your soul mate is perfectly matched for you, but how can they recognize you if you’re not showing your best at every moment…if you’re not moving into their field of view?

Attracting your soul mate is the same as attracting or “pulling” your destiny toward you. It comes from living in awareness and living at your best. To live at your best, you must (more…)

The Soul’s Character

by Rachna Chopra

That night while returning home, I met a stranger, and became friends with him. Looking into his eye, I found myself. Fear melted into the shadows. Strength returned to my limbs. That night while returning home, I met a stranger whose name was Courage. I made friends with him!

Indeed, the qualities of the spirit are the spirit’s true mates. The rest is rubble. Our soul’s character traits are our long lasting companions, not just because they cling to us even after our body crumbles, but they stay loyal till the final culmination of our soul’s merging with the Source. Furthermore, they can be instrumental in literally pushing us back there! They are like the eyes and limbs of the soul -– deciding how you see what you see, and how far you walk along your any chosen path. The stronger and sharper they are, the stronger of a force you are. Therefore, instead of waiting for a soul mate to land in your life, nourish one in your own soul.

Recognize Nature as Your Mate

by Rachna Chopra

Life is a pearly rain of bliss. When we open our hearts in trust, each petal of our being gets soaked.

Nature, truly, is our soul mate, because we were born to it, live amidst it and dissolve into it. Hinduism speaks of Pancha-bhootas or the five elements that comprise the universe, namely fire, water, earth, air and space, which are also the building blocks of our body and existence. These were there when we opened our little eyes into this world, and these will soothe our last sigh. Knowing nature to be our soul mate is true knowledge. Treating nature as your soul companion replaces your inner sad loneliness with seamless sharing, unconditional support and a soothing togetherness. Nature is not just a force to reckon with, nature is a friend that offers a two-way dialogue and reciprocity! The direction of the breeze, whistling of the birds, humming of insects, and sudden showers of rain are all cues that nature imparts consistently to its lovers. Have you ever seen a cloud drift by and assume a strange shape just when you were looking? These are far from coincidences. Each little twist in Nature’s mood has a message. Not needlessly have wandering monks languished in forests, and by no means were they isolated during their recluse on mountaintops! They were in perpetual communion with the most compassionate, intelligent and wise mate one can have.

Become Your Own Soul Mate

by Christopher Van Buren
When it really comes down to it, what we want to connect with, to be in love with, to love, honor, and cherish…is ourself. After all, is it not our own reflection that we are really attracted to in others? When we see qualities in others that inspire us and ignite our admiration and desire…do we not long for those qualities in ourselves for our own completion? It is always our own wholeness that we seek…even when we partner with others to share the path for a time. When we realize that we are our own soul mates, we can seek wholeness from within and take the burden off of others to complete us. In place of this, others become guides and mirrors to our own soul. We can see ourselves through their eyes and fall in love with ourselves again and again.

Create your Own Soul Mate

by Rachna Chopra
Did you know that your soul mate could be a cloud, a rock, a leaf, or even rain? Yes, these non-human beings have souls too, and they are ideal for turning into ones soul mate because they are devoid of egoistic personalities. Isn’t that where the clash lies anyway? So you don’t have to spend a lifetime chasing a soul mate — you can actually convert any natural force into one! If you have trouble conceiving of a mate without a body of flesh, then perhaps you are not ready for a soul mate. To invite a soul mate into your life, you must transcend material conceptions, and sensitize yourself spiritually! Here’s one method of converting a non-human being into a soul mate.

The Mirage of the Soul Mate, The Real and the Romantic

by Rachna Chopra
The concept of a soul mate may be more romanticized that it truly is. The truth may be farther away. If at all soul mates exist, they may not necessarily be romantic partners, but could hide amidst your friends, siblings, parents, distant relatives, or even pets! Soul mates could even be a group of beings, a bunch of souls with similar destinies on planet Earth, who are at similar points in their journey and have reached common landmarks. We may not even meet our soul mates in our life, as they could be at another corner of the universe, in another form. The question rather is why do seek soul mates? Why do they mean so much to us?

Will You Be My Buddy-Sattva?

by Mama Val Promise
Sometimes we get this love business backwards. We think we want to have a deep spiritual feeling about someone on the material plane, reaping our rewards in blissful and harmonious interchange in our every meeting.

But what if we’ve got it backwards? What is the point of finding a soulmate–someone to whom we experience a powerful and inexplicable attraction, and who seems like “relationship material?” Is it to have a buddy with whom to do the trench work toward ultimate enlightenment?

Soul Mate Theories, Just What Is a Soul Mate, Anyway?

by Jesudas Baba
Just what is a soul mate anyway? Just like asking what God is, if you ask 1,000 people what a soul mate is you will get 1,000 different answers.

Some think it is the person who was created to be with you and you with them. An extension of this idea is that soul mates were originally created as one soul that was then split in two. There is also the belief that a soul mate is someone with whom we have had a deep and meaningful partnership in a past life. Others feel that it would be someone we are drawn to with no control and the person we are with, whomever they may be, is our soul mate. Still others have the opinion that anyone can be your soul mate if you are willing to work on the relationship.
