Astrological Forecast for September 2008: The Ending of Cycles, Your Personal Harvest, Sharing

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

September traditionally marks the beginning of the harvest, which for all intents and purposes is the end of the growing season. When we lived in a world that was more closely related to the cycles of the seasons, September really represented the end of the year since the cycle of life had reached it’s apex and spent it’s energies.

Numerologically, it is the ninth month (based on The Gregorian calendar) and as such represents the end of a cycle as nine symbolizes completion, end of term, as reflected in the length of time that it takes to conceive and deliver a human baby. October goes back to one (10=1+0 =1), and starts the New Year all over again. The energy surrounding September is all about the ending of cycles, fruition and completion. In my experience, raises, promotions and opportunities to grow in general are manifested as we come to the end of the growing cycle—in essence the harvest can exist on many levels. Look for opportunities to haul in your own personal harvest, stay attentive to opportunities and give thanks if by hard work and good fortune, your lot is improved and the bounty of the universe rewards you with growth and abundance.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for August 2008: Full Moon in Aquarius, Brotherhood In Reflective Space

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

When the moon rests in Aquarius, it reflects the two “O’s,” optimism and objectivity aka “oo” or “oooh.” While the sensual fires blaze in Leo, the moon in Aquarius stands opposite in cool repose, adding a much needed sense of clarity and the ability to see the bigger picture, both culturally and on an individual level, emotionally. How this plays out in the geo-political arena is that we have the opportunity to pull back and see events from a larger perspective, understand the cultural currents and agenda based forces at work, which trigger events and our response/reaction to them. Over the course of the next two days, step back and passionately observe what’s taking place on the world stage and within the movie of your own personal life.

Astrological Forecast for August 2008: The Dragon’s Eclipse at the Olympics, Summer Parties, Love is All Around

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

August gets off to a blazing start with three planets in Leo and it’s ruler, our beloved Sun taking a few moments off behind the shadow of the moon with a full solar eclipse. Called, “The Dragon’s Eclipse” will be visible through parts of Siberia, Canada and China, hence “The Dragon” symbology. The ancient Chinese were terrified of eclipses and would shoot off fireworks or immerse themselves in water up to their necks in order to fend off the dragon that emerge when the Sun grew black. Some might view this as an ominous portent as the Olympic games begin in Beijing and Chinese culture tends to be very superstitious.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for July 2008: The Cool Moon Of The Goat, Full Moon in Capricorn

For All Signs

The full moon falls in Capricorn on Friday the 18th. The Capricorn full moon is cold and didactic, not one given over to deep feeling and the effulgence of emotion. This moon occupies it’s own opposite sign (opposite of the sign that is the moon’s ruler, which is Cancer). Of all the full moons, the full moon in Capricorn is in it’s fall and its potential energies are muted to say the least. This is not a moon that is prime for indulging in the more feminine and receptive attributes that we associate with the moon’s energy. However, if you planted any seeds (metaphorically speaking of course) during the moon’s new phase while it was in Cancer back on the 3rd, this Friday should be a critical milestone in terms of manifestation and where you stand on making things come to fruition in your life.

Astrological Forecast for July 2008: Sun in Cancer, Forecast for the USA

by Robert Phoenix

for all signs…

July is the month that we here in the good ole USA celebrate the day we declared independence from England. It is a significant time of year to look at the chart of the USA and how the planets affect us as a whole.

The United States is a Gemini rising country with a Cancer sun. One of the hallmarks of a country that has a Cancer sun is its ability to nurture the many on many levels. This ranges from the prodigious amounts of food grown from the emerald central valley of California, to the stands of Maple in Vermont, The USA has grown food for not only it’s own people but for also the mouths of the world. It’s also been a place where people can come to live out their dreams of prosperity and a better life. The ability to nurture grow and support has been deeply woven into the tapestry of American culture and history, from the immigrant waves that crashed upon Ellis Island to The Lost Boys of Sudan, who have found refuge here. “Bring us your weak, tired and huddled masses,” is the clarion call for a country with a Cancer sun.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for June 2008: The Moon of Inner Illumination, Full Moon in Saggitarius

For All Signs

The Sagittarius full moon brings to light the hidden truths inside of us. It is what I call “The Moon Of Inner Illumination.” Sagittarius as most of you know is the sign of law, philosophy, sports, publishing, and animals–represented by the centaur, half man/half horse, symbolizing our connection to the world of nature, specifically our four-legged-friends. While the moon swells up in Sag, it flicks on the switches in our DNA and lights up the animal within us that craves wildness and freedom. This translates into the call for authenticity and the urge to be honest, or in more contemporary terms, “getting real.” So no matter what your sign is, you’ll have some urge to transcend the limits of self and showcase some aspect of you that demands recognition. As this takes place, parts of your psyche, hiding out, come to the surface and this is where the “inner illumination takes place.” The shadow side of all of this self-actualization coming from deep within, is that there is a strident and even over-zealous side to Sag which can result in arrogance, judgment and self-righteousness, that manifests in one version of truth, that version being ones tightly held vision of it, excluding the possibility that others may be right.

Astrological forecast for June 2008: Mercury Retrograde in Gemini Means Life is Not a Linear Experience

by Robert Phoenix

for all signs…

Twelve years ago I was parked behind Rainbow Groceries in San Francisco with a friend. We were waiting for someone in my van when my friend asked me about “Mercury Retrograde.” Mercury was moving backwards in Gemini at the time and I shared with him how things can either go off or get back on track during Mercury’s backward dance with “the twins.” I also shared with him that unlike other Mercury Retrogrades, when it occurs in Gemini, impatience is heightened, especially on the road where accidents can occur as an outward manifestation of frustration and blocked energy. Just as my sentence trailed off, a car came flying by us, swerved around a parked cargo van, sideswiped a car making a turn and hit another parked car. Noting the strange yet delicious synchronicity that we were smack dab in the middle of, I finished my riff with, “just like that.” My normally loquacious friend did his best to utter, “I get it.”

Astrological Forecast for May 2008: Saturn in Virgo Makes for Lean Harvest; Sexy, Sensual Moon in Taurus on May 5

by Robert Phoenix

for all signs…

The last weekend in April I sat in my backyard listening to a good friend and seer on the phone from Encinitas, one of the best psychics I’ve ever met and she said flat out, “Bohemia Is Over.” While I made this assessment in my own life as my son just turned four and I find myself enjoying play dates more than play mates, I could sense what she was referring to. “It’s back to picket fences and community” she proclaimed and in her voice I could hear that we had very little choice. That’s the theme music of The Waltons” playing in the background of planet drama right now. Saturn continues to grind, pestle on mortar in Virgo making us aware of limitations regarding health and resources.

“Ceres” is the goddess of grain and she is also an esoteric manifestation of Virgo. Virgo rises in September at the time of harvest when Ceres rules. Is it any coincidence that we would begin to experience grain shortages while Saturn the taciturn parent exerts its force and dominion on Virgo? Limitation is Saturn’s keyword and when we see it conjoined in Virgo (Ceres/Grain), I think you get the picture.

Astrological Forecast for April 2008: Change is Afoot; The Power of Aries; Pluto in Opposition

by Robert Phoenix

for all signs…

Spring has definitely sprung as “Aries The Ram” bursted into our lives on the Spring Equinox in March. Coincidentally, it was also the first day of the Mayan calendar as well, which means…well, it’s anybody’s guess, as this doesn’t happen all that often so there is not a lot of history to draw on. But as I scour the psychic recesses of my higher mind and commune with the oversoul of Chronos, the theme that blinks on and off like a lipstick-red, cosmic neon diner sign is Change Now. That’s the energy available to everyone, re-birth, renewal, re-finance, re-define and re-dedicate…but not relax. Relaxing comes later in the month when lazy Taurus will want to slow the pace to “stop and smell the roses.” The first part of April, however, is more like “wake up and smell the coffee.”

Astrological Forecast for March 2008: Four Planets in Pisces, Mars Moves to Cancer

by Robert Phoenix

for all signs…

Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink — well almost not a drop. March is lining up to be a very emotional month with five key planets splashing around in water signs. The Sun, Mercury, Venus and Uranus will all be in Pisces, while Mars moves into Cancer, poised to be covered up and shielded form the potent Pluto/Capricorn opposition that is set to go down on the 5th. This has potentially ominous overtones for the world stage, as the U.S. is ruled by Cancer. The Crab moves sideways and backwards and when the force of Pluto meets it head on, it will either reverse back into its shell, or come out fighting, claws swinging furiously at the threat of a threat. Luckily, the healing balm of Pisces in Venus will from a trine with Mars throughout much of the month so whatever conflagrations arise on the world stage or the smaller, yet equally as important one in your own life, conflict can be sorted out and differences resolved, especially around the home when it comes to finances. Here’s how the skies look for the twelve signs in March.

Astrological Forecast for February 2008
More on Pluto, Mercury and Mars on the Move

by Robert Phoenix

for all signs…

Welcome to the Pluto/Capricorn new astral paradigm. Pluto moved into Capricorn on the 26th of January and will be stationed there for the next sixteen years. If I were to distill what would be in everyone’s best interests during this next Pluto cycle it would be, “think long term, long tail, plan for the future with an emphasis on the timeless.” That means investments in hard assets such a precious metals, mineral rights, foreign currencies, companies that support new technologies that hold a long-term vision of the planet and even in the right circumstances, land. Hedge yourself against the titanic hedge fund machinery and set aside money for retirement in an interest bearing account along with your 401K. This next stretch is all about endurance and the process of social maturity, that we’ll be undergoing as a planet. It’s graduation time.

Astrological Forecast for 2008 (Yearly Overview)
Pluto Moves to Capricorn for 15 years

by Robert Phoenix

for all signs…

The sound you’re hearing at the barely audible periphery of consciousness is the gears of the cosmos shifting and grinding, as a mighty-little-orb at the furthest reaches of our solar system slides into new a constellation for the next fifteen years, we’re talking Pluto, getting ready to remind us that it is indeed a planet and not just nebulous ball of gas.

Pluto rules deep transformation and change. It penetrates to the core of our being and is the catalyst to our most profound understanding of our selves. It’s moving from Sagittarius to Capricorn. While in Sag, Pluto saw the rise of religious fundamentalism in the guise of the mega-church evangelical movement, the emergence of Islam from the shadows and the surge of yoga and vedic sciences in the west. It also ushered in the era of performance enhancing drugs in the world of sports and as it moves out of Sag, the revelations of rampant drug use in baseball and track and field have been coming to light. But now Sagittarius takes a bow and exits stage left on the 26th of January. To put it all into perspective, Pluto was last in Capricorn just prior to the American Revolution, setting the stage for the next two hundred years as a republic. It was during the pre-1776 period where the rule of England became more and more autocratic and the colonies decided to upturn the apple cart and change the course of history.

November 2007 Forecast

by Robert Phoenix

for all signs…

It’s been nearly two months now since Saturn, the strict-uber-dad of the cosmos has settled into the sign of Virgo for the next two-and-a-half years. What does this mean from a social or collective perspective? Virgo is like the proverbial spinster of the zodiac, always concerned about possible shortages, and potential disasters, combine that with Saturn, which almost always emphasizes constraint and judicious behavior and you’ve got a country that will move further and further away from credit purchases as the sub-prime market interest rates continue to rise. People will wean themselves away from the dangerous addiction of credit spending in order to get their financial house in order. Health will be a key issue as well, especially on the nutritional supplement front, where big business along with lobbies and the FDA will try once again to regulate and rein in the production, distribution and sale of alternative health product and practices. It’s all about focusing on the details for all signs over this Saturn cycle.
