Astrological Forecast for March 2010: Getting Clear, Getting Real, Being Human

by Robert Phoenix

for all signs

At this time last year, I was gobsmacked by The Virgo Full Moon, conjuncting Saturn at my mid-heaven and opposing my south node in my fourth house, transiting Sun, eventually tugging on Uranus in my fourth as well. Reality slipped and I crashed into a hall of mirrors, reflecting the broken shards of my sanity, pieces of self scattered across the cold laminate of institutional foundations–the killing floor. Under the static hum of fluorescent stars and ever watchful eyes, I had to plan my escape through a chemical haze, affirming the watchers expectations, uncovering the coded matrices of acceptable behavior, eventually transcending them, ascending above their Minos maze. With the wings of Daedalus, merging vision with cunning, I tricked the tricksters at their very own game.

Astrological Forecast for February 2010: Starting out Stuck, Corporations vs. Individuals, Relationships & Power

by Robert Phoenix

for all signs

While I have experienced the energy of the new year to be invigorating, to say the least, I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve been stuck or even in reverse. We started 2010 off with two planets in retrograde (Mercury and Mars) and another (Saturn) going retrograde after the year started. So there has been an inherent sense of re-tracing, re-tracking and going backwards since 2010 kicked into gear. That’s not inherently bad unless you’re on some sort of deadline and getting things done is an imperative. At that point, you have to have a deeper understanding of your personal chart to get a better sense of your cycles.

This is where transits and a transit reading can come in quite handy. Even if Mars is retrograde, let’s say it slides back into a trine with your natal Sun or Ascendant for ten days — you’d want to make real use of that cycle and time. So just because there are inherent blocks with the opening cycles of 2010, all is not lost. In fact, there’s some real magic going on, even with the challenging squares.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for June 2009: Moon in Sagittarius, Werewolf Moon

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

The Moon is full in Sag and the call of the wild is sounded throughout the planet. The Sag Moon draws out the most authentic and raw parts of our nature, both on a personal and collective level. In many cases, it impels us to act first then review our actions later, from a higher perspective. This moon is instinctual and favors acting from the most natural parts of our being. When I think of the tale of “The Werewolf,” it reminds me of The Sag Moon, where a man, guided by his rational mind for most of the month transforms into a beast that is one with nature, and is in fact “super natural.”

Astrological Forecast for June 2009: Mercury Direct, Spirit of Creation, Beyond Hope

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

Well, Mercury is now officially direct. Can you feel the shift? Have you found those car keys? Bought your plane tickets? Did you revisit your own well being? Start a cleanse or diet? Did you get your house in order during this last swing of Mercury in reverse?

Mercury retrograde, while being hailed as a malefic in older, more traditional definitions of this cosmic phenomenon, is actually very useful in revisiting, revising, reforming and re-evaluating where one is in ones life. This particular retrograde saw Mercury going direct on Sunday at 22 degrees, Taurus. (more…)

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for May 2009: Spontaneous Comprehension, Shifting Energies and Time

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

I witnessed a glimpse into the future earlier in the week. I was at a drop-in gymnastics/circus gym with my five-year-old son — a huge expansive place with tramps, bars, balance beams, and trapeze swings. There was a young man supervising the kids who was doing some great jumps, flops and flips on the trampoline. My son eyed him for about ten minutes, then tried to emulate the young man with his own version of silly flops.

Then, all of a sudden, my son bounces once, dips his shoulders and does a half-flip, not once, twice, but three times. He went from a straight bounce to a half-flip with no help or guidance. It was a radical event for me, not just as a father, but for someone that is always seeking, looking for clues about where we’re headed and what’s in store for us as it relates to our consciousness. My son’s simple half-flip showed me that we have what it takes internally to get to where we’re going without a lot of the same rules and restrictions that we’ve lived with. For me, this is our future legacy both literally and figuratively.

Astrological Forecast for May 2009: Start New Projects, Don’t Panic

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

I think it’s a little ironic and somewhat interesting that we are in the agrarian stretch of the zodiac, Aries to Taurus and of course, the big news is “Swine Flu” which broke on the cusp of Aries and Taurus, just over the hump of 4/20. If we look forward in time, and stay with the animal theme, then we can see some sort of resolution around this by June when we enter into the sphere of human interaction and Gemini, but beware the duality of “The Twins” as things aren’t always what they appear to be.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for April 2009: Win-Win Justice for All, Profound Communication

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

This Libra full moon is fascinating on so many levels. First, it opposes a stellium (a meeting of three or more planets) in Aries (Sun/Mercury/Venus) and it joins up briefly to join Jupiter in an airy trine in Aquarius. When Libra and Aquarius merge and join forces, justice prevails, especially in opposition to that heavy Aries action. This moon favors social and personal justice, however, employing excess indignation where it’s not warranted could provoke more antagonism than is needed. They key here is to build bridges and not burn them down. Strengthen alliances already in place and win your rivals over by appealing to their heightened sense of humanity.

Astrological Forecast for April 2009: Aries and Libra, The Dance of the Inner and Outer Self

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

I’ve been trying to come up with a fun little April Fools day prank to play on ya’ll, but I just can’t pull the trigger. So maybe I’ll save the prank for another month and a different installment of this column. Now that we’re eight days deep into Aries, I think it behooves us to have a little look at the sign itself.

Aries is The God Of War and no matter how nice Aries types are or can be, they are motivated by conflict, struggle and the application of will to overcome adversity and challenge. They are the true warriors of the zodiac and are not to be trifled with. Quick thinking, quick witted and quick tempered, they blow like volcanoes, or simply simmer like pools of lava, waiting for the right moment to explode. Like all signs, Aries types are also here to learn about the opposite sign’s virtues. That sign is Libra and while Aries is ready to rattle sabers at a moments notice, Libra wants to talk it out, understand one another and come to a balanced perspective. So Aries need to learn to apply these traits to their own lives and Libras…vice-versa.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for March 2009: Virgo Moon is an Unforgiving Bitch, Change Your Life

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

The Virgo Moon is a cold and austere bitch that will have you questioning everything and everyone in your life, without any sort of comfort waiting in the wings. Think Christ in Gethsemane at night and there is your Virgo Full Moon. It stands opposite The Sun in Pisces which is all about merging and dissolving into an ocean of oneness and across from it is that schoolmarm moon, wagging it’s luminescent finger at you saying, “uh-uh, not quite yet little one.” Have you paid your taxes? Do you have enough in the bank? What is your blood pressure and cholesterol count? You should have never have trusted that company financial adviser with that 401K, you’re not pushing yourself hard enough in Yoga. That skinny little thing next to you is ready to join Cirque Du Soliel while you’re ready to snap like an old rubber band.”

Astrological Forecast for March 2009: Power Struggle, Sexuality, The Most Mystical Month of the Year

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

One cannot look at the stars without understanding what’s now taking place on the planet and vice-versa. The inter-connectedness of both is essential to understanding and navigating the rapidly changing times ahead. While March features a key retrograde of Venus in Aries (more on this later) it also features three rapid shifts in Mercury as it moves from Aquarius to Aries in just 24 days. That means that there will be a number of modalities in how one communicates and interacts with the world from an intellectual standpoint. As Mercury does its mad dash through three signs, personal positions will change and change again as a result. Unlike a Mercury Retrograde, which has embedded in it, an on-off switch of sorts, this flash of Mercury across the collective mind will bring out the Sybil in us all.

I’ve written about the upcoming Venus in Aries retrograde on my website and re-printed Lynda Hill’s Sabian Symbol forecast there as well. The overriding images are of power struggle between the sexes, smoldering sexuality, potent fantasy and revising positions in regard to relating.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for February 2009: Lunar Eclipse in Leo, Surrender, Mastery of Emotion Balanced with Reason

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

Has there been any more cosmic drama at the start of a presidency in recent memory? Nothing like a little celestial drama for a Leo president. So let’s dive into this full moon and see how it will impact all the signs.

This full moon will reach its zenith eclipse point at 22 degrees Leo. My cyber astrology pal, Lynda Hill, has done her usual, marvelous work on the Sabian Symbol interpretation on this eclipse. One of the key themes that she seems to be touching on is “surrender.” The moon in Leo is fiery, proud, radiant, emotionally rich and vibrant in its display of affection, especially as it relates to children. Opposite the cool, winter, Aquarian Sun, it’s a night for fireplaces and hot cocoa, board games and stories. (more…)

Astrological Forecast for February 2009: Four Planets in Aquarius–Be Prepared To Be Blown Away

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

That breeze you feel is the invigorating spirit of inspiration, blown into our lives by The Sun, Jupiter, Mars and Neptune, all in Aquarius. While Obama appointees are dropping like flies, buzzing over the staggering economy, something else is moving through the current of our lives. That something else is, “genius.” The interesting thing about genius is that it doesn’t belong to one person, group or institution. Genius is a spirit, a feeling, a vibration that can be courted, more easily than others at certain times. This is one of those times.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for January 2009: Full Moon in Cancer, Wistful Waiting, Expectancy, Going Nuts

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

The full moon is upon us., How do I know this, aside from taking my nose out of my navel and looking up in the sky? My black cat, “Amos” is acting like an idiot. This is a very powerful fool moon if he’s already bouncing around like he’s been on a three-day-nip-bender. It’s in Cancer, so its power is going to be pure and undiluted, uncut Moon funk, coming atcha through the roof of your mind. It’s going to be sheer lunacy this weekend–trust me. But it won’t be all bad–just make sure that if you do go nuts, that you’ve signed some sort of waiver or are with friends that are deeply complicit in your desire to emancipate yourself from the mundane, emotional landscape that you have been trudging through for the last 21 lifetimes. This is your moon my friend.

Astrological Forecast for January 2009: Astrology Overview for 2009, Jupiter Moves to Aquarius, Collective Visions without Expectations

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

January is a big, really big month in the skies. Lots of changes taking place and in some ways sets the tone for all of 2009. Let’s look at the number 2009 for starters and how it correlates to the biggest planetary shift of the year, which we will soon witness. Numerologically, 2009 is an eleven year (2+9 = 11). What does that mean? Eleven is the number of inspiration and revelation. It is the first in a series of master numbers (11, 22, 33, 44, 55 and 66). The eleven vibration supports visioning, thinking outside the box, flights of spirit, the loosening of personal gravitational fields, the ability to send and receive telepathic information, the link up of psychic connections, sensing higher solutions for day-to-day issues. The eleven vibration synchs up divinely with the transit of Jupiter in Capricorn to Jupiter in Aquarius (on 1/6). It will also be conjunct Mercury in Aquarius, from the 6th through the 8th. This is a really potent space for dreamers with sensitive antennae, a time to attune to the highest levels of consciousness.

Jupiter is the planet of expansion, pointing towards opportunities of growth that are graceful and elegant. Unlike it’s stern, planetary brethren, Saturn, which requires that we occasionally go through hell in order to grow and learn, Jupiter is more heavenly and forgiving in its broad application. The danger with Jupiter is that we take these blessings and opportunities for granted and never get off of our lazy asses and do the work required to make the easy changes become real. Aquarius is progressive, revolutionary, radical, visionary (that word again), scientific, analytical and inspired (that word again). So we have the planet of expansion joining forces with the sign of radically inspired genius, during an eleven year. That’s a formula for a major leap forward in our ability to participate in collective visioning.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for December 2008: Gemini Moon, Anything Goes, Psychic Activity

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

12/12, full moon, last one of 2008, in schizoid Gemini. I’ve always felt that the Gemini Full Moon is one of the least predictable of all moons. It’s mercurial and unstable, silvery, slivery and cool, opposing the jovial Sun in Sag. Gemini is duality, the janus of the cosmos and of all the signs, perhaps the most amoral. When the moon sits in the sign of the twins, especially opposite the Sag Sun, it can result in sheer lunacy.

I recently ran across this little tidbit about the effects of the full moon on the populace at large, a study done by The University of Miami. The researchers there analyzed crime data from The Dade County PD for a period spanning fifteen years. They found that cases of violent crime rose during a full moon along with risky behavior and dangerous driving patterns. While this is a fairly mundane interpretation of the effects of the full moon on the populace, it does point to the power of the moon to influence behavior. Throw in a little kookie boost from kinky Gemini and anything goes.

Astrological Forecast for December 2008: Moon, Venus and Jupiter in Capricorn; Corporate Government; Dreaming, Visions, Imagination

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

The final astrological report for 2008 is upon us and the planetary titans have shifted in the space of the last time I ruminated on such lofty celestial matters. In case you don’t know, Pluto has taken up a long term residence in Capricorn for the next 16 years. It did so on Thanksgiving. I’m always on the lookout for meta-events that correspond with such dramatic shifts in planetary alignments and there were two that really jumped out. The first is the most obvious and that’s the Mumbai terror activity and the second is one that grabbed headlines for all the wrong reasons; The Wal-Mart, Black Friday stampede on Long Island, where a Wal-Mart employee was trampled to death. The shadowy energy behind Pluto in Capricorn manifests in the rise of the corporatocracy, the internecine entangling of governance and business to form one, plutocratic agency based on governing through cost analysis, efficiency and scale–but what happened at that Wal-Mart was anything but efficient.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for November 2008: Power Plays, Attraction-Replusion, Buy, Sell, the Bull and the Goat

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

The full moon is exalted this month in Taurus. The dynamic tension between Psyche and Eros is played out in the heaven as manifested in the erotic tug-of-war of Scorpio and Taurus. With The Sun, Mercury and Mars all in Scorpio opposing The Moon in various degrees of it’s 36 hour fullness, expect some heavy action to go down in the realm of psycho-sexual role playing. Whether it’s in the bedroom or the boardroom, power plays loom large. The attraction/repulsion dynamic will be switched on to full effect. It will be fight, kiss and make up, fight some more and off to either separate beds or indescribable union.

Astrological Forecast for November 2008: Void Moon, Astrological Election Reflection

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

In the days that follow reading this horoscope, there’s a very good chance that we will have a new president sitting in the oval office for the next four years. A pretty good chance. I’d say about a 75% chance. You might say to yourself, “well since there’s going to be an election of November 4th, isn’t that a given?” Generally, yes. However, there are three astrological phenomenon conspiring to perhaps alter or even delay the outcome. Let’s look at them,

First off, the moon is void of course. In astrology 101, its generally assumed that you don’t plan any major activities around a “void of course” moon. It’s almost like a mini Mercury, retrograde. For an image to lock onto, think of slippery Earth, slick and unsteady, no solid ground. Just tiptoe through it and and get to the other side, plant your feet on Terra Firma and move forward. That’s all well and good in ones personal life, but when an election takes place, a national election at that, well that’s a different story altogether. Let’s add yet another cosmic wrinkle, which is Saturn in Virgo directly opposing Uranus in Pisces. Wow. Saturn checks in with order and law, conservative to the gills, and Uranus is “revolution and dispersion” in this alignment. The last time these two planets exactly opposed one another was in 1966…only that time, Uranus was in Virgo and Saturn in Pisces.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for October 2008: Aries Full Moon, Volcanic Energies, Sexual Tension

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

Things are hot and about to get hotter when The Aries full moon rises on the 14th. Tempers are short and passions run high. Make sure that you are picking the right battles to fight for the right reasons. To complicate things even more The Moon is squaring both Venus and Mars in Scorpio, which adds to the volcanic energies that are boiling beneath the surface, opposing Mercury, soon to go direct on the 16th. So there’s a complex series of aspects all leading towards fireworks of one kind or another. Sexual tensions will rise as well, making the bedroom a hot zone for working out the stress and frustration engendered by the steamy Aries/Scorpio, fire/water dynamic.

Astrological Forecast for October 2008: The Tilting Of The Planetary Transpersonal, Irony & Detachment, Mercury Retrograde in Libra

by Robert Phoenix
I’ve been sitting here for the past few hours, doing my best to signal a positive muse for October’s star cast and even though she tugged and teased at my awareness, alas, she is conserving her magic for the time that I and we really need it. So the best that I could wrangle at this point is “The Muse Of Detached And Ironic Indifference.” Well I guess it beats “The Muse Of Uncontainable Rage And Limitless Fury.” Lucky for you, lucky for me, since my son still needs the true north of my moral influence for at least the next twenty years.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for September 2008, The Pisces Full Moon, The Full Moon of Soul Emersion

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

The final full moon of the summer is upon us on September 15. The dreamy, mystical and intoxicating Pisces Moon bathes us in the waters inspiration and illusion, guiding our dreamtime journeys with its pale luminescence. Pay very close attention, to dreams and visions over the next 48 hours as this moon has the power to inspire, enlighten and guide us in non-rational directions, understanding without knowing how, bringing the inexplicable to the fore. Along with it, come the intoxicating qualities of the full moon, great for poets, painters, writers and musicians, not so hot for people struggling with dependence issues. From a practical standpoint, that means buckle up and find a designated driver if you’re out and about in party mode. Pisces rules institutions like churches, asylums and jails.

Astrological Forecast for September 2008: The Ending of Cycles, Your Personal Harvest, Sharing

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

September traditionally marks the beginning of the harvest, which for all intents and purposes is the end of the growing season. When we lived in a world that was more closely related to the cycles of the seasons, September really represented the end of the year since the cycle of life had reached it’s apex and spent it’s energies.

Numerologically, it is the ninth month (based on The Gregorian calendar) and as such represents the end of a cycle as nine symbolizes completion, end of term, as reflected in the length of time that it takes to conceive and deliver a human baby. October goes back to one (10=1+0 =1), and starts the New Year all over again. The energy surrounding September is all about the ending of cycles, fruition and completion. In my experience, raises, promotions and opportunities to grow in general are manifested as we come to the end of the growing cycle—in essence the harvest can exist on many levels. Look for opportunities to haul in your own personal harvest, stay attentive to opportunities and give thanks if by hard work and good fortune, your lot is improved and the bounty of the universe rewards you with growth and abundance.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for August 2008: Full Moon in Aquarius, Brotherhood In Reflective Space

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

When the moon rests in Aquarius, it reflects the two “O’s,” optimism and objectivity aka “oo” or “oooh.” While the sensual fires blaze in Leo, the moon in Aquarius stands opposite in cool repose, adding a much needed sense of clarity and the ability to see the bigger picture, both culturally and on an individual level, emotionally. How this plays out in the geo-political arena is that we have the opportunity to pull back and see events from a larger perspective, understand the cultural currents and agenda based forces at work, which trigger events and our response/reaction to them. Over the course of the next two days, step back and passionately observe what’s taking place on the world stage and within the movie of your own personal life.

Astrological Forecast for August 2008: The Dragon’s Eclipse at the Olympics, Summer Parties, Love is All Around

by Robert Phoenix

For All Signs

August gets off to a blazing start with three planets in Leo and it’s ruler, our beloved Sun taking a few moments off behind the shadow of the moon with a full solar eclipse. Called, “The Dragon’s Eclipse” will be visible through parts of Siberia, Canada and China, hence “The Dragon” symbology. The ancient Chinese were terrified of eclipses and would shoot off fireworks or immerse themselves in water up to their necks in order to fend off the dragon that emerge when the Sun grew black. Some might view this as an ominous portent as the Olympic games begin in Beijing and Chinese culture tends to be very superstitious.

Full Moon Astrological Forecast for July 2008: The Cool Moon Of The Goat, Full Moon in Capricorn

For All Signs

The full moon falls in Capricorn on Friday the 18th. The Capricorn full moon is cold and didactic, not one given over to deep feeling and the effulgence of emotion. This moon occupies it’s own opposite sign (opposite of the sign that is the moon’s ruler, which is Cancer). Of all the full moons, the full moon in Capricorn is in it’s fall and its potential energies are muted to say the least. This is not a moon that is prime for indulging in the more feminine and receptive attributes that we associate with the moon’s energy. However, if you planted any seeds (metaphorically speaking of course) during the moon’s new phase while it was in Cancer back on the 3rd, this Friday should be a critical milestone in terms of manifestation and where you stand on making things come to fruition in your life.
