We all have heard of the adage what you think you become. It is so true. What we keep consistently thinking of, we not only attract, we become. Since absorption could be the disease as well as the cure, herein lies the danger as well as the opportunity. We need to carefully choose the object of our attention. That absorption wherein the chosen object of attention is the deity, either with form or formless, is called Bhakti Yoga.

The experience of lovers of the divine tells that on this path of yoga, it is only a matter of time that the lover becomes the loved, and the worshipper becomes the worshipped. Bhakti Yoga is an extremely simple path of arriving at divine unity, because the walk on love’s terrain is a much simpler and more scenic than that of scientific reason. On the path of Bhakti Yoga, stringent yogic postures and complex breathing techniques have no place, and neither are the books on Jnana Yoga of any consequence. The only skill required is the ability to develop a love for divinity, and chant with a burning heart. Chanting the Name builds a strange power within us that continues to self-harness with each utterance. As the Nada (sound) begins to weave its web, transformational work begins.

Gradually, we get elevated to the frequency of the Name we are chanting, and acquire the traits of the deity it symbolizes, since deities are but energy frequencies that throw the reflection of form. Only make sure to choose the Name carefully, as it determines your spirit’s destiny.
