The path of personal upliftment is not an easy one. The evil in man is strong enough to prevent it! Evil is correctly understood and defined as the set of limitations stained by personal egos that throw the illusion of division between the cosmic principle and us. Soon after you make a conscious effort to rise above your limitations, more arise. Rather, you just become more keenly aware of those that always existed inside of you all this while. It is heartbreaking sometimes to resolve to live differently, feel and act from a higher awareness and consciousness, and then watch yourself slide helplessly with the force of your own little self that clamors constantly for attention. Understanding that this struggle is not your lone quest, but has been the plight of all those who have striven, brings consolation.

The thought that your unique struggles, downfalls and embarrassments are not really that unique brings relief and inspiration to carry on. In your moments of self-loathing for having failed, practice having compassion for yourself! In our state of half-understood reality of the space-time continuum, it is indeed hard to cling to the flickering and whimsical glimpses of truth. Know that limitations born out of an egoistic sense of self are surely innumerable, yet they are transient appearances, floating only on mind’s surface. Mind’s true nature remains unchanged. Our original purity has remained forever undefiled despite the myriad projections of ego on its surface. After all how can a finite ego and its pranks spoil the grandeur of the Overself? You are at best a dreamer who has gotten too involved in his imaginations. Your limitations too are part of this dream!
