I’ve been sitting here for the past few hours, doing my best to signal a positive muse for October’s star cast and even though she tugged and teased at my awareness, alas, she is conserving her magic for the time that I and we really need it. So the best that I could wrangle at this point is “The Muse Of Detached And Ironic Indifference.” Well I guess it beats “The Muse Of Uncontainable Rage And Limitless Fury.” Lucky for you, lucky for me, since my son still needs the true north of my moral influence for at least the next twenty years.

So the cool muse immediately drew my attention to Yeats’ classic and prophetic poem, The Second Coming. The lines she kept ringing around my head were the following:

“The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.”

Coming from The Muse of Detached and Ironic Indifference, I would expect nothing less. Let’s face it boys and girls, this isn’t business as usual and for some folks, these times are downright scary and yet, The Muse is conveying to me, to share with you Mick Jagger’s slightly annoyed pleas to the freaked out crowd at Altamont to “Just cool out.” I’m not sure how comforting this is, but we’ll both just have to trust The Muse.

October’s StarCast (for all signs)

The Libra New Moon is a prelude to a month where balance will be called for and cool heads to prevail. On the 29th of September, it’s the quiet before the storm, and I’m hoping that your own natural rhythms have taken advantage of the stillness.

Mercury, retrograde in Libra is stalling and derailing the bailout efforts and that might just be a good thing as contracts and deals should not be done if possible when Mercury is retrograde—especially in Libra which impacts contracts and law, finding equality, mutuality and balance in all things. Based on the energy of the stars, the bailout will not happen if both sides are not in agreement. It’s one time where Mercury Retrograde bodes well for us.
