Prayer is nothing but wanting something sufficiently enough, such that tilts the scales of destiny in your favor. In nature, everything is weighed and measured. There are no boons granted by gods -– it is all physics! The reason why things do not happen the way we want them, or events do not transpire as anticipated or hoped is that we did not hope enough! Or more accurately, we did not back our hopes with solid intent. There is absolutely nothing that you can’t get if you want it bad enough, and for the right reasons. These are the only two conditions to be met for the apple to fall right in your lap with the least effort on your part.

Prayer is merely an act of solidifying our own intent, clearing the mess of divergent thoughts, cleaning our conscience by confession, such that the rays of our intent are shining bright and clear. What we are actually doing when we are praying is cleaning the air, dispelling the pollutants, and focusing energy in one direction, so that enough of it collects in one spot and enables the flowering of the fruit. Another beautiful event transpires when we pray. We get aligned with nature’s powerful forces that shape and hone our intent for the good of everyone. As Paramhansa Yogananda says, “Always desire that which is good, that which is noble, that which is pure. Then, as a divine man, filled with the magnetism of God, you can never fail to attract anything you want.” Any impurities existing in our body-mind apparatus that may block our desires from reaching fulfillment are eradicated through prayer, and we march right into our desired destination. Rather, the destination marches right into our living rooms!
