For All Signs

August gets off to a blazing start with three planets in Leo and it’s ruler, our beloved Sun taking a few moments off behind the shadow of the moon with a full solar eclipse. Called, “The Dragon’s Eclipse” will be visible through parts of Siberia, Canada and China, hence “The Dragon” symbology. The ancient Chinese were terrified of eclipses and would shoot off fireworks or immerse themselves in water up to their necks in order to fend off the dragon that emerge when the Sun grew black. Some might view this as an ominous portent as the Olympic games begin in Beijing and Chinese culture tends to be very superstitious.

With such an intense blast of Leonine energy at the beginning of August, there’s a dynamism that’s circulating through the collective nervous system. Summer parties will be lively and the spirit of children and child’s play will be infectious. Falling in love on a warm and starry night is also part of this particular matrix as well as the heart opens to the warmth of possibilities, dissolving the divide between our thoughts and feelings, unifying us in the field of joy and affirmation. While Neptune will oppose the Sun towards the middle of the month and challenge the authenticity of new connections, it won’t hurt to say, “yes” to the magic—as love is all and all is love.

Mars is still in Virgo and while the Leo vibration is all about play, Virgo is making sure that he cleans our rooms first. Honor the details then go out romp in the garden.

On a particular political note, Barrack Obama’s birthday takes place on the 4th, when the stellium of Leo energy is at its peak. The moon will be in Virgo in Obama’s 11th house, which will add a little bit of humility when it comes to dealing with the masses. He’ll need it, as his popularity will be through the roof next week (I would not be surprised if he announces his running mate).
