Full Moon Astrological Forecast for July 2008: The Cool Moon Of The Goat, Full Moon in Capricorn

Jul 17th, 2008

For All Signs

The full moon falls in Capricorn on Friday the 18th. The Capricorn full moon is cold and didactic, not one given over to deep feeling and the effulgence of emotion. This moon occupies it’s own opposite sign (opposite of the sign that is the moon’s ruler, which is Cancer). Of all the full moons, the full moon in Capricorn is in it’s fall and its potential energies are muted to say the least. This is not a moon that is prime for indulging in the more feminine and receptive attributes that we associate with the moon’s energy. However, if you planted any seeds (metaphorically speaking of course) during the moon’s new phase while it was in Cancer back on the 3rd, this Friday should be a critical milestone in terms of manifestation and where you stand on making things come to fruition in your life.

On a social level, this full moon opposes the country’s Sun in Cancer and will no doubt highlight the already palpable fears around the economy, especially as it relates to the housing market. Capricorn is the lord of karma and as it stares back at us unmercifully, the financial markets will get a critical reality check. Cancer rules homes, families and along with Taurus, real estate. While Taurus is engaged in the acquisition of land and property, Cancer is concerned about the home as it relates to property and in this regard, the housing market specifically. The energy around Friday’s moon will serve as a portent for the weeks and months ahead; and since Capricorn deals in long cycles of time, this moon could have reverberations for years to come. Let’s look at how the full moon effects each sign individually.
