Top Ten Tantra Tracks of All Time, The Music of Love
Lists seem to be really popular. I’ve been over to Yahoos music blogs and many of the most popular columns are list driven. So in the spirit of a listing world, I am going to contribute yet another list that will make your world, somehow more complete. Every list on my list will take into account all of the pre-requisites of body/mind/spiritology and I’ll list all pertinent ingredients as a result. That said, here is list number one.
The Top Ten Tantra Recordings of All Time (according to me)
10. Raphael—Music To Disappear In
This classic from 1988 is old school new age, but Rafael’s love affair with analog synths translates into deeply ecstatic music and heartfelt music.
9. Strunz and Farrah—Mysterio
Can be a little up-tempo at times, but these flamenco virtuosos hit the passionate sweet spot on a recording that evokes a fiery, spiritual romanticism.
8. Lisa Lynne—Maiden’s Prayer
This talented harpist weaves a magical love spell that embraces elements of Celtic and Spanish traditions. Where the secular meets the sacred.
7. Various Artists—Hummingbird Tantra
A nicely assembled compilation that features the talents of new age goddess Suzanne Teng as well as Prem Joshua and Enzo Bueno.
6. Vanessa Daou—Plutonium Glow
Not traditionally Tantric by any stretch, but Ms. Daou and her husband Peter create some of the sexiest space lounge ever. “Zero G” is exactly what sex might sound like in space.
5. G. Rughy—Healing Music Therapy: Sexual
Fairly obscure recording from Switzerland but it nicely captures the almost overwhelming possibility of bliss.
4. Al Gromer Khan—Mahogany Nights
He’s got more recordings that are specifically designed as some sort of Tantric soundtrack but they pale in comparison to this classic.
3. Gabrielle Roth—Refuge
Dark Tantra mantras from Russian rock god, Boris Grebenshikov, Tantralizing!
2. Rasa—Union
The title says it all.
1. Bahramji and Maneesh De Moor—Call Of The Mystic
Tantra, Ibiza style–luscious, seductive and spiritual–all at once.
