Relationship Web Highlights: Bedroom Enhancements (Product Spotlight)
In a previous post, Upgrading your Sheets, I offered up some makeover ideas for your bed. I’d like to continue with that theme here in this bedroom product spotlight…
Eco Friendly Sheets are Body Friendly Too
Consider Bamboo…sustainable, eco-friendly, silky and breathable…a great idea for outfitting your place of pleasure and rest. Here are 50/50 blend bamboo and organic cotton sheets from www.gaiam.com They possess a nice tone-on-tone floral jacquard pattern in a natural shade. But if you swear by cotton, consider organic cotton knit sheets –- these feel just like (or better than) your favorite t-shirt! Low eco-impact dyes lend a pleasing array of color tones: mauve, green tea, bark or natural, make these a good choice for the conscious consumer. These chemical free organic cotton jersey sheet sets are also reasonably priced. Again at www.giam.com.
Lingerie For Your Bed, Slipping Into Something More Comfortable
An easy, fun way to make your bed seem fresh and new again is to accessorize. A lifted look can be achieved without even changing the sheets. I found ideas on The Lingerie Post, which was founded by Mandolina from Antwerp. She began her Website out of her own love for all things underwear and lingerie! Even in the short time I have been subscribed to her list, many contributors have since joined her efforts. In this post, TLP explores some exciting pillow options for the bedroom, including silk, as well as customizable pillows with vintage art and cheeky quotes on them (such as, “Bestow your warmest sympathies in each other’s trials,” and “Never deceive. Confidence, once lost, can never be wholly regained.”) For details, see www.the-lingerie-post.com.
CB2 carries several pillows I like right now. My favorites are the Aloe, Rena and Bollywood pillows. As you may have guessed, the fun Bollywood pillow is so named for its visual homage to the energetic and internationally-loved Mumbai-based film industry in India (by the way, my paramour’s favorite Bollywood film is Lagaan — check it out!). More of CB2’s pillows can be found at www.cb2.com.
Couples Picking Up Couples
Thanks to writer Susie Bright for sharing on her blog this hilarious video, “Weekend Plans” by Reigel & Blatt inspired by, ummm… settled-down couples who need pick-up lines for other couples. Or something like that. See it at www.susiebright.blogs.com.

my bollywood pillow arrived this week — it’s going to be a gift for my paramour. i figured if we ever get tired of the black and white lacking in color — my only concern — i can pick up some mesh netting at the fabric store in orange, yellow or pink, wrap the pillow up in it which would give it some punch yet allow the images to show through. (fabric paint could be a solution but would be permanent, as is tie-dye!)
