for all signs…

Welcome to the Pluto/Capricorn new astral paradigm. Pluto moved into Capricorn on the 26th of January and will be stationed there for the next sixteen years. If I were to distill what would be in everyone’s best interests during this next Pluto cycle it would be, “think long term, long tail, plan for the future with an emphasis on the timeless.” That means investments in hard assets such a precious metals, mineral rights, foreign currencies, companies that support new technologies that hold a long-term vision of the planet and even in the right circumstances, land. Hedge yourself against the titanic hedge fund machinery and set aside money for retirement in an interest bearing account along with your 401K. This next stretch is all about endurance and the process of social maturity, that we’ll be undergoing as a planet. It’s graduation time.

That said, there are some more than minor planetary aspects afoot. Mercury has done it’s wacky backwards dance, known as “Mercury Retrograde.” If you know anything about astrology, you know the dance by now; lose keys, find keys, sign lease, un-sign lease, break-up, make-up, make-up, break-up. You get the picture. This time, Mercury moves backwards in Aquarius. As it does, we get to re-think our positions about how we see the world in a more tolerant and progressive fashion. It’s also a time where hard drives crash and lines of communications go down. In fact, entire portions of the internet went down on the 30th when a ship’s anchor cut some submerged, transatlantic cables. Mercury is also squaring Saturn in duty-bound Virgo. Saturn/Virgo is all about details, details, details, micro-organizing, while Mercury/Aquarius is all about big, big, picture. It’s time to refine those long-range goals and take small, detailed, definite steps to keep scaling the peaks of personal performance. This aspect results in a define/refine component that suits the beginning of the Gregorian New Year.

The other major piece to consider is Mars moving forward in Gemini. There’s going to be a lot of interpersonal relating going on for couples. Squabbles that have been put on hold rise to the surface and lot of chests get lighter as a result. Fight fair and you’ll learn lots about yourself as well as the divine reflection that you’re shadow boxing with. Keep a journal and take copious notes about how you and the other respond and resolve. Mars moves into moody Cancer in March where it will oppose mighty Pluto. This signifies a touchy time where feelings are on the line and change is in the air. But until then, here’s the astral download for you star children.
